No football for me today adn as I write this aweber is playing up this morning so hopefully that resolves itself fairly quickly so I can send all other info out, I will put an update on the forum if things continue to play up..
I will be resuming Elite write ups today for Elite members so that will be with you today/ first thing tomorrow depending on the aweber situation today. We have had countless newsletter website problems, I really have no idea why it is proving so crap but I hope that is also addressed today.
Had a very good meeting with Kieran yesterday who is FTS’s Betting Systems Manager about the improvements to the FTS website and forum and I shall publish details of changes we plan to make later on. These changes will benefit everyone and make FTS an even better resource for you. I imagine all the changes will be implemented over the next month or so, I am on holiday from 29th Jan for 9 days but will be continuing to work whilst away.
An area I have touched on is scam systems and a quick look through my emails on the journey home yesterday many of you are still asking about sales emails you receive and whether the products are any good. I can almost certainly guarantee that in 99.9% of cases they will not be. Just to touch on a few for you. Benjamin Street has changed the identity he promotes system under to Premier Betting Systems. Ot has been stated on the forum, and on this blog that Benjamin has serially sold crap for many years now. He finds the new change your life Holy Grail system every 2 or 3 days it seems, mails out, sells it cheap and from what I hear refunds etc are difficult to obtain. Soulsby and Rushton if you get any emails from these I would delete and unsubscribe as soon as possible. They seem to have joined up with the serial sellers and mail out regularly with sensational claims over a wide range of products , racing, football and casino systems. I myself received one just yesterday on the latest new Roulette product, which has actually been online for a number of years now and will see you go skint whilst they get rich of affiliate fees etc. The new website set up at FTS will steer you in the right direction on what to avoid so my advice is keep your cash in your pocket as these marketing scumbags look to exploit people.
The forum continues to be a buzz at the moment and as well as all the tipping there is some sound advice on there on many betting aspects. The one thing i have learned over my years online with FTS is we are all different and as harsh as it sounds many people claim things do not work, when it is in fact often the case people do not work. You do need certain mental skills to gamble regularly. we are though all different and if you make money gambling I do not see there is a strict right or wrong way to do it. The forum featured and interesting debate on certain ways to find your bets. I didn’t, when reading it come, down on either side of the argument as I saw merits in both. We are all different, we learn in different ways and no 2 people will see any situation exactly the same. You ultimately have to do what works for you and what you feel good with – of course that is as long as it is profitable. I have repeatedly said that in my mind discipline and mental attitude particularly when losing are the elemenst i think most people need to improve and would improve most gamblers bottom line. I do not or never have for example sat and worked out my ROI figures. It is not an area that has ever concerned to me or do I feel i need to concern myself with it. To others this figure is paramount. Neither is right or wrong it is what you feel you need to look at. I concern myself with good record keeping and whether something is profitable long term. If it is then I will go with it. I agree totally with the fact you need to feel confident and at least try and understand what you are betting on and why. I do though having exchanged emails with over 15,000 people since the FTS site started feel that a lot of people suffer from paralysis by analysis. They try to read too much into every single bet and situation and this sends them into a panic when anything deviates from their blueprint. You can do all the research in the world and your horse can get brought down after 2 furlongs, or a star striker sent off on a team you thought were certainties and you need to handle those moments. Gambling to me is an ever moveable feast and we are always learning about ourselves. I think it was correctly put on the forum “there is more than 1 way to skin a cat”. What I do has served me well for many a year and will continue to do so for many more, that I am certain.
I showed Kieran a spreadsheet yesterday of some particular bets I had (I am happy for him to confirm this himself). Those bets between the 9th and 15th January lost just over £26,000 (it was not an FTS service before people start emailing, this is a separate project I started looking at last year). Kierans reaction was of course “WOW” and how can you do that. Anybody I had given those bets to if it had just been for that week would of course probably abandoned it long before the figure I reached and written it off as garbage. The whole picture is that I have been doing those since July and the figure is £125,000 in profit (that is after that loss). My mindset when they lose a large amount is no different I will press on as I know long term it will make great profits. Other people would not look at it like this, it would be written off. As long as I in my head understand it and understand that can happen I have no issue with it. The best winning week was nearly 40k and that could be this week. Yesterday it made £908, today it may make more or lose, the truth is I do not know what any day or week will bring, but I know it will profit over the long run and that is how I work.
Moving on what did we learn from this weeks football action. Let’s start with Mancini. I mentioned last week that he was aggrieved by Rooney wving his hand to simulate a red card, having done it himself against Sunderland. he then goes and does it again last night. Unbelievable to watch! He then claims him doing it is different to a player doing it as he cannot influence a game. He certainly can influence and set an example to his players and in my opinion is sending completely the wrong message. My view is he is a man under pressure and I wholeheartedly think City will not won the league. We are only 3 games over half way, there is a lot of football to play and I cannot see past Man Utd as title winners again this season.
Arsenal are in decline. I have mentioned this before but a friend of mine was tweeting some stats over the weekend and they made some sour reading for Arsenal. The stats were in a umber of areas and based on Arsenal in 2007/2008 to Arsenal now. The decline was alarming and I think Arsene, who no one can deny has been a superb manager for the club, has perhaps lost his way. I would be keen to oppose them over the next few months that is for sure if the price fits.
Liverpool are (in my opinion) highly over rated. I just think Liverpool have too many bad players. When Spurs were a side that continually finished 7th, 8th etc I used to look at the big 4 then Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and the players in those sides thinking I wish we had him. He would be great for Spurs. I can honestly say I look at the Liverpool team today and would not want any of them. King Kenny seems untouchable from fans and press alike. His piints average per game is only 0.17 ahead of Roy Hodgson so you have to ask had Hodgson been given time, would they now be in a better position.
Swansea play great football and deserve there place. I have been impressed by Swansea and there win at the weekend was no fluke nor unexpected. They have great home form, a manager that gets them playing good football and are a side I have noted to be on the right side of particularly at home.
Just a quick aside I went to Spurs at the weekend and the people who sit next to us bought a guest with them. He announced himself as a Cockney Red (London based Man Utd supporter) but claimed he was a cockney red with a difference. I asked whay that was to be hit with the following, I will leave you with it as I had no response and the guy was 100% genuine in his views.
“I don’t like Alex Ferguson and never have and I think Lionel Messi is completely useless”
